A Franc(s)-jeu terroir
AOP ? IGP ? VDF ?
In 2021, we didn't choose this vineyard by chance; its land and location speak for themselves:
vines perched on hillsides between the Isle and Dordogne valleys, extending from the hills of Saint-Émilion. The sun shines abundantly, rainfall is limited, and temperature variations are greater than in the surrounding area.
An ideal place to make fine wines.
Even though we are proud to be part of the Francs Côtes de Bordeaux winegrowers and the beautiful Bordeaux wine region,
the majority of the wines we produce are "downgraded" to Vin de France, for several reasons:
- significant financial contributions which do not serve us much at our micro-producer scale,
- specifications that are too restrictive which prevent us from producing different and unique wines,
- too large a gap between winegrowers in the region where it is difficult to recognize ourselves as an alternative estate.
AOP, IGP, VDF, we share this magnificent terroir together, the important thing is not the appellation but the origin of the grapes.
